Jaspal Roopra is the visionary Founder and CEO of Sawbir, a company dedicated to driving heart centred and service orientated solutions to clients. With a career spanning over two decades in both public and private sectors, Jaspal has established herself as a leader in organizational development, strategic HR, and executive coaching.
Jaspal serves as the Director of People at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, where she was a key member of the Hospital Executive Board. Her career journey also includes 13 years at BT plc, followed by 20 years in the Civil Service, where she held multiple senior leadership roles in the Home Office, National Crime Agency, and Department of Energy & Climate Change. Her last role in the Civil Service was as the HR Divisional Director for Skills, Capability, and Talent at the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS). During this tenure, she led transformative initiatives focused on enhancing organizational capability, driving diversity and inclusion, and fostering leadership excellence.
Jaspal is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, holding a Diploma in Organizational Design and Development, and Executive Coaching. Her commitment to community and social impact is evident in her work as a Trustee for the Charity for Civil Servants, an Independent Member of the EDI Committee for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, and as a volunteer for StreetKind UK, a charity dedicated to supporting the homeless across London. She is also committed to inspiring and enabling the nest generation of leaders. As a member of the International Women’s Forum UK she champions equality and racial equity and believes that leadership transcends gender and race.
